This
morning’s trip up from Blarney was without hassle; we left our excellent camp
there on the hill, travelling north up the N20 to Mallow, then west on the N72,
the surface of this lesser road immediately deteriorating; we bumped our way
across to Killarney to discover chattels tossed out of cupboards onto the bed but
no damage suffered.
This
camp is adjacent to the N22, the major route we could have come up from Cork
on, but the hedge of high trees muffles most of the road noise. The caretaker
is friendly, helpul and professional. The washing machines cost a more
reasonable €4 although the showers are user pays, as most except our last
camp are. Of course we now have a low base from which we measure, that at
Tramore, so just about any camp is going to be better.
Preliminary
tour planning has already shown be our four touring days here will not be
enough, however we will just have to be satisfied with what we have. There are
some excellent driving routes on offer; I am looking forward to the days ahead.
