Blarney Caravan & Camping Park, County Cork, Munster

Our trip south from Waterford today was relatively straight forward except for the half hour hold up in road works in Castlemartyr, an apt name for the poor residents who are putting up with the inconvenience and mess whilst it is ongoing. Soon we found ourselves beside a lovely little lake, which to be honest, did not bear close scrutiny, but was attractive from where we lunched in our caravan.

Progress through Cork was slow, through a thousand traffic lights, but would not have been as bad had I let Tomtom take us around the North Ring Road. I thought I knew best, however here we are in a delightful camping ground with a wonderful set of fellow campers, all very reminiscent of Club sites in England. For the privelege we are paying less than both the previous Irish camps and don’t have to pay for showers, or so I believe.

And the fact that this is posted the very day it is written suggests that the free wifi works and can be accessed fairly easily. So it is with this very positive attitude that we look forward to exploring Cork and it’s county over the next three days.
